What was witnessed at State house In Nairobi was dramatic after Lamu Governor Issa Timammy and his Members of County Assembly (MCAs), among other Lamu leaders refused to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, the last minute and asked to go back to their County.
This is after The President's ‘men in Black’ came in the name of CID detectives arrested Timammy’s Personal Assistant (PA) in connection with the Lamu killings, prompting a scuffle between security agents and the Lamu politicians.

The MCAs went back to their hotels and stayed indoors for the better part of the day saying they will only agree to meet Uhuru/ Ruto when Timammy’s PA is released. He canceled his meeting with Uhuru/ Ruto and rushed to the CID headquarters to secure the release of his PA.
The President and his Deputy were left shocked and were forced to beg the Lamu leaders to meet them and who only agreed after Timammy’s PA was finally released All this explains why the meeting had to go deep into the night.
