It is now official that the US Government has indirectly endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta for a second term in office even after opposing his rise to the throne prior to the 2013 poll.
Well-placed so persons who they will probably support for the Presidency in 2022. One is former Presidential candidate, Musalia Mudavadi. US believes Mudavadi is a sober man and he has what it takes to succeed Uhuru.
The second one is former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.US believes Kalonzo has the necessary credentials to succeed Uhuru because he is sober and not corrupt like CORD leader, Raila Odinga.
urces conversant with America’s power game in Kenya say US President Barrack Obama’s visit was to send a message to Kenyans that America wants Uhuru re-elected for the second term in 2017.
US power brokers believe that by getting close to Uhuru, America will be able to fight terrorism and expand its business tentacles in Sub Saharan Africa.
America is also keen to have a friendly President as it eyes its energy sector in geothermal and oil exploration.
But on the contrary, the US doesn’t want Deputy President William Ruto to succeed Uhuru in 2022.
Credible sources say that America’s plot to block Ruto’s Presidency has nothing to do with the ongoing case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) but Ruto’s alleged involvement in graft.
The US says Ruto’s name has featured in corruption and keeps popping up in accusations of fraud, corruption, theft of public land, diversion of public funds and violation of procurement and tendering rules for personal gain.
