He said his daughter incurred a debt of Sh3 million. He further claimed that she borrowed money to finance his medical expenses in Nairobi and South Africa.
But Otieno dismissed the claims, saying he used to work at K24 and later consultancies to fund his medication.
He said he owned a Range Rover, which he bought after trading in his Land Cruiser.
“I could afford it,” Otieno said.
He denied any sexual relationship with Chepchumba, but insisted that they were close friends.
Otieno said Chepchumba would call him several times a day and send text messages but he deleted them because they were “traumatising”.
He said she talked of death, saying she was tired of her parents hostility.
To help, they visited former Athletics Kenya chairman Isaiah Kiplagat for his intervention, Otieno said.
He said other friends of Chepchumba – Stephen Agutu and Susan Gachukia – were aware of her problems. credits: the star.
