The Kenyan music fraternity is mourning the death of talented songstress Afro Jazz singer and former Tusker Project Fame Principal Lydia Achieng Abura. The celebrated musician passed away yesterday October 20 while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi.

The mother of one who has been keeping a low profile of late is said to have been working on raising funds to foot her son Prince’s medical bill who was recently diagnosed with sickle cell anemia and was due to be flown outside the country for treatment. According to sources, Achieng’ Abura was worried about her son’s health and was admitted at Kenyatta where she was being treated for depression and gastritis; inflammation of the lining of the stomach.

Well, Achieng’ Abura who was one of the most respected, admired women around and a role model to many, put up a post on her Facebook account hinting on her deteriorated health. This post has left her fans shocked with many speculating that Achieng Abura was going through a lot and this was a prediction of her death.
