Undercover police officers in Kayole used popular messaging platform WhatsApp to communicate before they gunned down wanted female gangster Clare Mwaniki aka Clea Adi Vybz. Clare, who was believed to be the wife of a notorious robber known as Mwanii, was shot dead in Lower Chokaa area, along Kangundo Road.

The police officers got a tip off from one of their colleagues through their WhatsApp group and mobilised themselves to nab the young woman, who was in the company of four men. Since some of the officers did not see the message, they were called one by one then they asked for reinforcement from their colleagues who were on patrol.
