In Ruai, police officers raided a house where four armed thugs were hiding following a tip off from members of the public
On sighting the officers, the suspects engaged the police in a shootout where one unknown male was shot dead as his other three accomplices managed to escape.
A homemade gun with four rounds of ammunition was recovered at the scene. Police also recovered 19 mobile phones, three wrist watches, two flat screen televisions, a decoder and 52 rolls of bhang.
The body was taken to city mortuary pending autopsy and identification.
