60 Year Old Man Gored To Death By A Rogue Buffalo In Nyeri.

Residents of Kihuyo village in Nyeri County were gripped by grief after one of their own Stephen Mwangi 60 was gored to death by a rogue buffalo as he grazed his cattle.

The buffalo reportedly strayed out of the Aberdare National Park which is adjacent to the the village. Before the 9am incident, Mwangi was grazing his livestock at a field adjacent to the park when the buffalo pounced on him and killed him instantly, after which it walked back to the park.

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers arrived at the scene and tracked the animal for several hours, found it within the park and shot it dead. Nyeri Central Sub-County Commissioner John Marete said the buffalo strayed into the village after it destroyed a section of the electric fence.
