One of the richest
man in the world, British billionaire Richard Branson has challenged foreign governments for issuing travel advisories against Kenya, for by doing this they create a wrong impression about the country and risk destroying its economy.
Through his Virgin Group website, Sir Richard said governments should never publish travel advisories warning its citizens against visiting another country, saying this played into the hand of terrorists.
Branson added that although the government has an important role to address the many challenges facing the country, it is wrong to advise against all non-essential travel as this can lead to destruction of Kenya’s economy.
Branson is an investor in Kenya’s hospitality industry having opened a luxury tented camp in Maasai Mara last year.
