With the new Constitution taking shape Members of the County Assemblies from across Kenya are better paid in comparison to the Councillors who they can be compared to in the old constitutional dispensation.
Their salaries have been increased from Sh79,000 and will now receive a minimum of Sh 123,750 after the
County Assembly Members will now receive a minimum of Sh 123,750
after the Salaries and Remuneration Commission recently increased their pay.
They will also receive a monthly allowance of about Sh 124,800. Question is, sis this the reason that many of them have become eroded now that they are big monied? Recently one of them spent the weekend behind bars following allegations that he s*xually molested an underage girl.
The politician was arrested mid last week after the case was reported to police hours after the said girl was admitted in hospital. He is said to have been repeatedly doing this. The MCA tried to buy his freedom with a Sh200,000 police bribe,but the officers refused to fall in his trap.
