1. Joseph Kamotho Veteran politician and long serving KANU Secretary General. He died on December 5th at a South African Hospital aged 72.
2. Otieno Kajwang Former Homa Bay Senator and outspoken ODM strongman. He died on November 18th aged 55 at The Mater Hospital due to cardiac arrest.
3. Emily Ruto Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s daughter and National cricket team captain. He died on 24th October aged 25 due from leukemia.
4. Guyo Halake Former Moyale MP. He was shot four times outside his home and died instantly on 22nd October.
5. Joseph Ngugi Nyumu Former Gatundu South MP. He died on May 21st in his bathroom.
6. Prof. Ali Mazrui Renowned Kenyan scholar and lecturer in the US. He died on October 12th in New York.
7. Kuria Kanyingi Former Limuru MP who died on November 4th. He is remembered for his lavish lifestyle and big harambees that saw him branded ‘Mr. Moneybag’.
8. Dr. Njoroge Mungai He was the personal physician of first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. He died on August 16th.
9. Jackson Kimeu Mulinge He was the longest serving Chief of Staf of the Kenya military serving Kenyatta and Moi. He foiled the 1982 attempted coup against Moi and died on June 16th aged 91.
10. Peter Kaberere Renowned gospel musician and died on April 6th after he was electrocuted at his car wash.
