“We are pushing the amendment and it will be ready by tomorrow. There is nothing wrong in having losing candidates like Raila Odinga in the nomination list. We need to be practical in terms of the society that we live in,” said Chepkonga.

The URP legislator noted that if the proposed law was in place by 2013, losers like Raila Odinga would be positively contributing to the well being of the country in Parliament than lying on the streets to demonstrate against IEBC.
“If CORD had been allowed to nominate people to the National Assembly and the Senate, it would have given an opportunity for those who lost the election to play a role in Parliament,” said Chepkonga.
“Nothing bars losing (presidential) candidates from being on the nomination list,” he added.
