It is alleged that Alphonse Gari, a Malindi based journalist was arrested by the First Lady’s security team while taking photos of Mrs Kenyatta.
Mr Gari was then frogmarched to a van by part of her security team sparking anger among other media personalities present.

In solidarity with their colleague, other journalists temporarily left the event protesting against the alleged harassment. Following the spectacle caused by the journalists, county officials intervened and the journalist was set free.
The First Lady was in the area to present the 44th Mobile Clinic as part of her awareness campaign to reduce maternal deaths.
