The 34-year-old man identified as Stephen Ngila Nthenge appeared in court on Monday after a video went viral showing his estranged wife Jackline Mwende narrating how he attacked her with a panga inflicting serious injuries on her face and hands.
The suspect who is a tailor in Machakos County was accused of physically assaulting his wife by slashing her hands a week ago after showing up at Mwende’s house unannounced.The suspect is said to have moved out of his home three months earlier only to return and attack her.
He was arraigned before Wamunyu Law Courts and was charged with attempted murder which he denied.
