The gang is believed to have arrived early at the scene and taken the guards hostage before they changed into their clothes and waited for Kenneth's wife.
She was driven to a nearby forest at 3am where the gang dumped her and left with her car, a Freelander, an unknown amount of money and mobile phones.

Shortly later, Wanjiru bumped into Mr Muigai and his family trying to find their way back home and informed them that she had been robbed in the same barrier at the estate.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome confirmed the incident and said the victims only lost their valuables but no one was hurt.
“The victims were not harmed during the incidents. They are safe and with their families,” Koome was quoted by the Standard.
Koome stated that preliminary investigations had traced Wanjiru's car to Uganda.
