The woman who was brutally beaten by her husband and he hands cut off is now smiling all the way to the bank thanks to Machakos County government.

The woman will from this month receive Sh30,000 monthly, for a year, from the Machakos government.

Machakos governors wife Lilian said that Mwende aged 27 will get free medical care, including counseling, until she recovers fully.

Further Lilian who contributed Sh100,000 said that Mwende will also be provided with a house keeper whose services will be paid for by the county for a year.
