The Jubilee coalition has strongly refuted speculations that the party has dipped its hands into the public coffers to finance its operations ahead of the 2017 elections.
According to the party’s top brass, all jubilee activities are being run by funds from the Political Parties Fund, contributions from members and donations from well-wishers and friends of the party.
Speaking during a TV interview on Thursday morning, TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo also noted that the party has a good number of Gold members who pay to the party Sh100,000 to get the exclusive membership.
On Wednesday, Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale rubbished concerns raised by the Opposition saying: “ODM should not panic, the former TNA and URP are very big parties and will be funded very heavily by taxpayers’ money from the Political Parties Fund."
“Even in countries like America the Republican movement has raised almost $1bn to for their campaigns most of it from well-wishers,” Mr Duale added.
