A Kenyan woman was on Sunday morning attacked and thrown out of a Catholic Church in Kwale County for what that termed as indecent dressing.
Halleluya Amta said that she was harassed by church attendants – two men and one woman – at Saint Joseph Ukunda Catholic Church.
“I came to this church on Sunday with this dress and while being frisked I was pushed, abused and beaten,” Amta said.
Amta claimed was dressed in a tight black trouser which she had covered with a long dress and was carrying a handbag and an umbrella. To her surprise, she was barred from entering the church with the ushers saying she was dressed inappropriately.
“My dress is not bad at all and I don’t know why I was abused. Imagine I was beaten by my fellow Christians and I know them, two men and one woman,” Amta was quoted by the Standard.
