Teachers have vowed to strongly oppose Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s plan to punish all principals whose schools performed poorly in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.


During the release of KCSE results in Mombasa, Matiang’i announced that all principals who recorded poor results in their respective schools would be dealt with accordingly.

The announcement sparked fear among school heads and teachers who have warned Matiang’i against going ahead with the plan claiming there many factors that can contribute to poor performance.
