On Tuesday, Citizen TV reported that well-placed sources revealed that talks had been held between the controversial senator and officials of the Wiper Party.
It is alleged that the Opposition party offered Sonko a direct ticket to vie for the Machakos Governor’s seat in the upcoming August polls.
The offer is believed to have been motivated by an anticipated fall-out between Sonko and the Jubilee party after the Senator claimed there were plans to sabotage his bid to be the Governor in Nairobi.
Sonko’s hardline stance against fellow governorship hopeful, Peter Kenneth, has lowered the chances of a Jubilee Party win in Nairobi, a recent poll showed.
