BREAKING: MIKE SONKO TO BE JAILED FOR SIX MONTHS.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko faces a six-month jail term after a Mombasa Court ordered him to produce the Chairman of the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council (MRC), Mr Omar Mwamnuadzi. Senior Principal Magistrate Francis Kjiambia has issued a court order directing Sonko to produce the MRC leader within 14 days or face jail.

Sonko, who stood as surety for the MRC leader, faces six months in prison or a fine of Sh1 Million if he doesn’t produce Mwamnuadzi’s whereabouts. The court had already given Sonko a four-month notice to produce the controversial leader to which he did not oblige. More to follow
