Jubilee Party leaders from Deputy President William Ruto's home area of Turbo have rejected his appeal to vote in the Jubilee nominee for Turbo parliamentary seat Kevin Okwara stating that they would support independent candidate Janet Sitienei Rotich.

Led by Julius Kitur, the group declared that Turbo constituency had it's 'owners'. "Uhuru, Ruto and Governor Jackson Mandago have their votes safe but as concerns MP we will back Rotich," Kitur stated. Mr Okwara won the nominations in April after beating incumbent Member of Parliament Elisha Busienei.
