National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have threatened to boycott the August 8 elections claiming they have evidence that the Jubilee government was plotting to use the military to rig the poll. The coalition further claimed that Jubilee had extra ballots that they would use in ballot stuffing.
"The attempt by Uhuru Kenyatta to involve some members of our military to interfere in Aug 8th Elections is illegal and amounts to a coup," NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has stated. "We suspect the ballot papers have already been printed; we don't know why IEBC is telling us to send agents to Al Ghurair," he added.
On his part, NASA Presidential Running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has alleged that Jubilee has enlisted loyal officers to subvert the elections. The Wiper leader stated that the government's plan included cutting water and power.
In June, Odinga accused the Jubilee administration of dragging the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) into politics. Odinga claimed that selected officers were being trained for recruitment as polling and presiding officers to help rig the August General Election.
