President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent out a message to a section of National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters who have been demonstrating in protest to the presidential results.
Speaking after his first day in office since re-election, Kenyatta asked the protesters to express their dissatisfaction within the law and avoid destruction of property.

The President affirmed that anyone was free to demonstrate but peacefully, warning that the government would not allow the loss of life, destruction of property and looting.

He further applauded police officers for the good work they had done during this electioneering period but urged them to restrain themselves from the use of force.
The Head of State added that he was grateful Kenyans had put the concluded election behind them and returned to work.
