Gakuru and his driver suffered serious injuries during the incident and were rushed to the Thika Level 5 Hospital awaiting transfer.
Reports indicate that the Governor was travelling from Nyeri to Nairobi for a talk show when the accident occurred. Nyeri Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia confirmed the incident.
