Just recently, gospel singer Emmy Kosgey revealed that she was pregnant after two years of marriage to old Nigerian preacher, Anselm Madubuko.

Emmy’s hubby comes from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria, which is known for practising witchcraft and weird traditional beliefs.

The gospel songstress became an Igbo woman theday she got married to the wealthy preacher and is now expected to observe the Igbo culture. A spell is cast on any woman who is married to an Igbo man but fails to observe their culture.

She will remain in seclusion for28 days after giving birth and during this time, she is not supposed to talk to her husband or get close to him.

After the 28 day period, the gospel songstress will under-go purification by bathing in a river while n()k3d under the watch of village elders. This is meant to drive away any evil spirit or curse.

Later, she is expected to take the new-born child to a shrine accompanied by her husband. They must carry yams and roosters to appease the gods. Failure to do this can lead to death of the new born child or the mother.

Emmy will then go back to the village and meet the village elders who are expected to spit saliva on her chest so that she can receive blessings.
