The senator further hinted that the party’s executive committee will be meeting in the near future to discuss the conduct of the secretary general.
“Whatever our SG Salat is doing in CORD meetings is strictly personal, and does not represent KANU position. All KANU members and Kenyans at large, should not listen to Salat. We are soon calling KANU top organ to discuss the unbecoming conduct of Hon Salat,” he added.
This comes after Salat attended the CORD Madaraka Day rally at Uhuru Park grounds where he demanded that IEBC commissioners vacate office as demanded by the opposition.
Addressing a mammoth crowd that turned up at the event, Salat said that he was representing the independence party in the rally, and hit back at the Jubilee leaders for refusing to dialogue over the disbandment of the commission.
He led the crowd to sing a chorus against the electoral body.
The KANU secretary general is also on record attending the anti-IEBC demonstrations by the CORD and its supporters two weeks ago.

Salat accompanied the CORD leader Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula on their match to IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers, but the group was teargased and dispersed by anti-riot police.
According to Salat, KANU opted to join the CORD in demanding the disbandment of the IEBC following their loss to Jubilee in the Kericho senatorial by-election.
The KANU believes that IEBC colluded with the ruling coalition to rig in JAP’s Aaron Cheruiyot at the expense of KANU’s Paul Sang.
It remains to be seen whether the party will make good its threats and take disciplinary action against the secretary generaL
