Chinese Yang Jianbin whose tumor is the biggest in the World underwent
a lengthy operation to remove it. It took 9 doctors 16 hours to remove
the giant tumor weighing over 100 Kgs.
He received 5000 milliliters of blood during the operation. Jianbin was born with a dark birth mark on the right side of his lower back.
The tumor started at a tender age of nine years and by the time he was twelve it had grown to the size of a man’s fist. Before his operation, Yang said the giant tumor greatly affected his life.
He could only lie down or sit on his bed all day long. According to Chief surgeon Chen Minliang , Yang suffers from a condition known as Neurofibromatosis. Yang is now recovering well and it expected to be discharged later this month.
