Kenya African National Union (KANU) leaders led by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi have threatened to withdraw their support for the Jubilee and support the opposition over insults by the Deputy President (DP) William Ruto. Speaking during the Manifesto launch of Narok South parliamentary aspirant Silvester Ntutu, Moi disclosed that he can no longer take the insults and threats that the DP has been issuing to KANU aspirants.
“It is disheartening to see elected leaders threatened to the point they cannot express their views, the Deputy President should respect other leaders,” Moi stated. Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ng'eno and KANU Secretary General Nick Salat reiterated Moi’s words and warned the DP against threatening their candidates. The KANU leaders also made it clear that they would not support Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022 as they had already made their choice.
